As I mentioned in our About Us, our family own a lot of Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points across six DVC resorts. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is Daddy Lamb’s number 1 DVC resort. Mine is Riviera Resort, and Little Lamb’s is Animal Kingdom Lodge (which little kid does not like animals?).
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a tropical paradise located in the heart of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. This resort offers guests a unique and immersive experience that blends the beauty of the South Pacific with the magic of Disney. From the moment you enter the resort, you are transported to a tropical oasis with lush gardens, cascading waterfalls, and a picturesque beach. The resort is designed to evoke the spirit of the South Pacific, with its vibrant colors, lush foliage, and Polynesian-inspired architecture.
The resort offers various accommodations, ranging from standard guest rooms to luxurious villas. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, with modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The villas offer even more space and luxury, with fully-equipped kitchens, private balconies, and separate living and dining areas. All rooms and villas are decorated in a tropical theme, with bright colors and island-inspired furnishings. As I mentioned, we always stay in a villa and it is very spacious. You can see the pictures of them in the official website.
The resort also offers different dining options, from casual poolside snacks to fine dining. The resort’s most popular restaurant: ‘Ohana, deserves a detailed review of its own. ‘Ohana restaurant at Disney World is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends. The atmosphere is inviting and the food is delicious. The all-you-can-eat menu includes a variety of Polynesian-style dishes, such as pineapple-glazed chicken, pork dumplings, and teriyaki beef skewers. The portions are generous and the flavors are rich and flavorful. The restaurant also offers a selection of beers and wines to complement the meal. The service is attentive and friendly. Overall, Ohana is a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. Highly recommended!
Another fine restaurant, Kona Café, serves up a variety of Polynesian-inspired dishes, such as Hawaiian-style poke bowls and grilled mahi-mahi.
For a more casual dining experience, guests can enjoy poolside snacks and drinks at the Barefoot Pool Bar. The resort also offers a variety of quick-service restaurants, such as Captain Cook’s. We personally love Captain Cook’s, especially its breakfast. Be aware though: the portion size for the kids’ breakfast menu is gigantic! Mommy Lamb usually orders a kid’s breakfast because it is so large and equally delicious like the adults’ menu items. Our little Lamb can never finish his breakfast but Daddy Lamb usually comes to the rescue.
The resort also offers several recreational activities, from swimming in the resort’s two heated pools to taking a leisurely stroll along the beach. For those looking for a more relaxing experience, the resort also offers a spa, fitness center, and a variety of other amenities. Little Lamb enjoys the most about their youth activities on the main lawn area. Occasionally, we have done movies under the stars and roasting marshmallows around the campfire.
A little known secret is that you can also book guided fishing excursions or boat rentals on the marina. The price is fairly reasonable. I will cover more in the future posts.
Finally, at late night, you can watch the fireworks from the resort property and the Electrical Water Pageant- it is basically a nighttime water parade.
Overall, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a truly unique and immersive experience. The resort offers a variety of accommodations, dining options, and recreational activities, all in a tropical paradise setting. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or an action-packed adventure, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is the perfect destination for a family or just adults. No wonder it is Daddy Lamb’s number 1 DVC resort!!
